The training organised by National Police Women Network and financed by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) attracted participants from the National Police, Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), National Women Council and students from various schools across the country.

The training organised by National Police Women Network and financed by the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) attracted participants from the National Police, Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF), National Women Council and students from various schools across the country.
"We still have long way to go since gender violence cases are still many. The skills and knowledge acquired should therefore be a support to fight it and make Rwanda a free gender violence society,” Stanley Nsabimana Deputy Commissioner General of police in charge of administration and personnel said.
Without mentioning the level of gender violence, Supt. Anonciata Mukahigiro, the outgoing coordinator, National Police Women Network observed that gender violence in children and women is still high in the country.
