Nyamabuye wins “Behavior Change” trophy

MUHANGA – Nyamabuye sector beat Muhanga sector 1-0 in the finals of a football tournament referred to as the Behavior Change and Social Marketing (BCSM). The tournament was organized by the Society of Women against Aids in Africa (SWAA)-Rwanda program in a bid to promote behavior change among youths in the district .

MUHANGA – Nyamabuye sector beat Muhanga sector 1-0 in the finals of a football tournament referred to as the Behavior Change and Social Marketing (BCSM). The tournament was organized by the Society of Women against Aids in Africa (SWAA)-Rwanda program in a bid to promote behavior change among youths in the district .

Nyarusange sector scooped the 3rd place after beating Mushishiro sector by 5-4 in a penalty kick out.

SWAA Rwanda executive secretary, Beatrice Uwamahoro, handed over the trophy to Nyamabuye sector football team at Gitarama stadium on Wednesday evening.

The four final teams also received a football kit to be used in promoting sports in the area.

Grace Uwizeye, the BCSM program official said that "behavior change is one way of encouraging youths to be responsible.”

"We would like to see women involved in such sporting activities in the future and the program be disseminated throughout the district”.

Joel Serucaca, the District health officer, lauded the BCSM program and called on the youth to promote behavior change and join the fight against HIV/Aids by becoming responsible citizens in their respective communities.
