Gisenyi hospital warehouse hit by robbery

RUBAVU – Police has in their custody four local defense personnel for allegedly aiding robbers who broke in a hospital ware house last week and stole food stuffs. Sources say seven cartons of cooking oil , 36 sacks of other assorted foodstuff including  four sacks of sugar was stolen as police in the area mounted an operation to arrest the suspects who left the ware house empty.

RUBAVU – Police has in their custody four local defense personnel for allegedly aiding robbers who broke in a hospital ware house last week and stole food stuffs.

Sources say seven cartons of cooking oil , 36 sacks of other assorted foodstuff including  four sacks of sugar was stolen as police in the area mounted an operation to arrest the suspects who left the ware house empty.

Both the police spokesman and hospital director Sam Ruvuma Musinguzi has confirmed the incident. "We have arrested local defense personnel who were tasked with securing the hospital area since they are the prime suspects, but investigations are still ongoing,” Sup Eric kayiranga who did not want to reveal details said.

Sources claim further that it is not the first time such an incident happened.

"It really looks like an inside job involving the   ware house staff but  so far police has failed to come up with concrete facts to pin  them down,” the source at the hospital said.

"Unconfirmed information is that the stolen stuff was taken to DRC,” the source added.
