Over 130 graduate in technical courses at KCT

Kicukiro College of Technology (KCT) on Friday awarded certificates of competence to 132 trainers in various disciplines.

"Today is a special day as KCT awards certificates of competence that will be backed by transcripts to 132 trainers,” the College’s Principal, Joseph Mfinanga said.

At the event that was officiated by the Director General of the Workforce Development Authority (WDA), Dr Jean Damascene Gatabazi, the trainers were awarded certificates in courses including automobile, plumbing, construction and electrical works.

According to Mfinanga,n the courses lasted five-months and the participants also went for industrial training in different companies depending on their respective courses.

In an interview with The New Times, Bientot Rugira one of the beneficiaries in the automobile department said the training will have a positive impact in his future.

"I can now think of searching for job as a mechanic unlike before when I did not have the skills,” Rugira said.
The training was financed by international NGO, Action Aid.
