The Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM) on Friday held the end of year party for its employees at Orange hotel in Kigali and awarded outstanding staff members.

Monique Nsanzabaganwa Minister of Commerce, Trade and industry awarded employees who excelled in performance during the year 2009 with certificates of appreciation which were accompanied by different prizes.

During the ceremony, Nsanzabaganwa highlighted the ministry’s key achievements and challenges during 2009.

The ministry’s accountant Vincent Sebahire scooped the best performing award of the year.

"Am very happy for having been nominated by my fellow employees as the best performer among them, to me it means a lot that people recognize what I have been delivering,” said Sebahire.

In an interview with The New Times, the minister said that the ministry employees have demonstrated a teamwork spirit which has pushed the ministry to achieve a lot during the year.

"In this ending year, the ministry has achieved a lot and the employees’ integrity and hardworking spirit have delivered a lot for the development of our country,” she said.
