MUKURA head coach Ali Bizimana has admitted that lack of morale among the players is the main reason for the team’s poor start to the new season.

Bizimana made the confession just day after his bottom of the table side stunned the champions APR 1-0 on Saturday at Huye stadium.

"It’s not that Mukura beat APR, but if the player were well motivated, this club (Mukura) would be challenging for the league title every season,” Bizimana said.

Akite Mudeyi scored the only goal of the game on the 43rd minute as the Southern Province side moved one spot to 11th position on the table standing.

The former Kiyovu coach noted that if it was not for administrative issues that have rocked the club since the start of the current campaign, which has drained the players of morale, Mukura would be high in the table rather than fight for survival.

The Huye based outfit faces fellow strugglers Kiyovu in their next league fixture on Boxing Day. Kiyovu lost 1-0 to Electrogaz on Sunday.
