Primeiro de Agosto vs Petro Atletico

Fireworks will definitely go off inside Amahoro indoor stadium court when Angola’s archrivals Petro Atletico and Primeiro de Agosto clash in the final of the Fiba Africa Club Championship this evening.

Both clubs come into this tie with perfect record having won all their games of the two-week competition, though Petro Atletico were pushed all the way by DRC’s Mazembe in their semifinal clash on Sunday, which they won 90-88.

Primeiro coach Luis Magalhaes reckons that the match might get emotional and tense, but is confident his side will overcome their traditional rivals.

"The clubs have been playing each other in the Angolan basketball league for years, so things might get tense and emotional, but we are confident of defending our title,” Magalhaes told Times Sport.

Home side, APR will be looking for a win against Congolese outfit Mazembe to take third place.

Benin’s ASPAC will tussle it out with Nigeria’s Kano Pillars for fourth place, while Co-operative Bank of Kenya battles Inter club of Congo Brazzaville for fifth place.
