Once upon a time, there lived an old man called Gasembo who was very lonely because he had no wife and no children of his own to talk to.

In his neighbourhood lived two young boys, Kaiti and Kefa. As the boys were coming from school one evening they found him by the road side and greeted him.

The boys liked Gasembo, in fact they escorted him to his home. They did not have a grandfather so they thought they had found one. They started calling him grandfather.
Since then, the boys used to visit Gasembo everyday so he told them stories.

Kaiti and Kefa used to do all their house work on time to make sure they could spare time to visit their grandfather.

Sometimes they used to take some of the food they had for their lunch since Gasembo was too old to cook for himself.

One time, when they returned from school they went straight to their grandfather’s house and found that he had cooked good food for them.

The two boys had never eaten millet with mushroom soup and this is what grandpa had cooked; much as they had never tasted the food they liked it so much.

That day when the boys went home they told their mother and father about their friend but the parents were so scared they thought Gasembo was not a good man.
the boys told them parents that their grand father was not evil.

When the morning came their parents told their sons that they were going to visit the old man together.
Gasembo was so happy to see the family.

Their parents were so amazed by the old man and they invited him to come for Christmas. Gasembo was so exited and decided to dance for his visitors.

One evening the boys went to see their grandfather as usual but this time they found Gasembo was in his bed very sick. He had not eaten anything for two days.  Kaiti told Kefa to run home and tell their mother about Gasembo.

Mother came running to see what had happened to grandfather they took him to hospital and the doctors told them he would be fine.

Gasembo had his Christmas in hospital but he was very happy he had friends that cared for him.
