Kigali’s creative pulse will thrum louder this Sunday, October 26, as Project Somnia unveils the first-ever edition of The Somnia Mix, an immersive night of art, music, and community at Zaria Court.
From the minds behind Kwetu Sundays, and twilight picnics, this event promises a new chapter in Kigali’s cultural story.

Project Somnia has long been known for turning ordinary spaces into emotional landscapes, where creativity feels tangible and alive. This debut edition pushes that vision further, celebrating artistic collaboration between Rwanda and Burundi.
At the center of the night is SIJI, the Burundian artist behind the viral African hit KOMSA, performing live in Rwanda for the first time. Sharing the stage will be Rwandan favorites Christopher and Rita The Violinist, along with DJ Senshi, who will keep the decks spinning.

"Rwandans have shown nothing but love for our past events,” said Elvis Kayinamura, founder and CEO of Project Somnia. "We’ve been curating experiences that are slowly growing into movements. Witnessing that in real time is inspiring. This is just the beginning.”
Kayinamura envisions The Somnia Mix as a quarterly event, with ambitions to draw artists from across East Africa and eventually beyond. The night itself is designed as a fully immersive outdoor experience.
Zaria Court’s football pitch will be transformed into an artistic oasis, complete with lounges, cocktail tables, a Paint & Sip zone, and The Somnia Jam, where artists and attendees create spontaneous musical moments together.
The organizers see The Somnia Mix as a showcase of Kigali’s creative confidence, reflecting the city’s warmth, openness, and artistic ambition. It marks a new chapter in how Rwandans engage with music and culture—not just as spectators, but as active participants in a shared, deeply human experience. Tickets for the event range from Rwf15,000 to Rwf100,000.
