GATSIBO – A 39-year-old woman has been killed by her husband over allegations of infidelity. Emmanuel Hakizimana, a resident of Gitoki sector in Gatsibo district, killed Savera Nzamwitakuze, on Wednesday, accusing her of having an affair with another man. ‘He beat her with a huge stick in the head and she died instantly. It was late at night,’ one area resident told The New Times.

Emmanuel Hakizimana, a resident of Gitoki sector in Gatsibo district, killed Savera Nzamwitakuze, on Wednesday, accusing her of having an affair with another man.
‘He beat her with a huge stick in the head and she died instantly. It was late at night,’ one area resident told The New Times.
According to family friends, the row started after the deceased lent out part of Rwf150, 000 she got as loan, to a man she claimed to be her cousin.
The husband accused the deceased of having an affair with the person she lent the money dismissing claims that they were related.
Innocent Kanamugire, the executive secretary of Gitoki sector confirmed the murder and said domestic wrangles have been common in Hakizimana’s home.
‘We have been calling them each time we are informed of their open differences in their home,” Kanamugire said. "It was a shock when we heard that this man has killed his wife.”
Security officials said the suspect is currently detained at Kabarore Police Post.
