Ole Haugom, co-founder and CEO of FitnessPoint, emphasised the significance of the collaboration with PFL Africa, describing it as a meaningful step in supporting professional fighters and promoting MMA in Rwanda.
"We’re basically helping the fighters by giving them access to train at our gym, we even hosted female fighters at our facility for training and other events they want,” he said.
Looking ahead, Haugom sees the partnership between PFL and Fitnesspoint as part of something much bigger for the sport on the continent.
"It’s a great start, mixed martial arts is big all over the world, and it’s about time it comes to Rwanda too.”

A coach at FitnessPoint, Pascal Niyibizi, highlighted that the broader impact of mixed martial arts’ growth on Rwanda&039;s sports scene is encouraging Rwandans who are interested in boxing and martial arts to explore what FitnessPoint offers.
"We have boxing classes here, and I’d really encourage people to learn and fall in love with the sport. I believe there will be many more opportunities to compete in boxing in Rwanda,” he said.
Niyibizi also sees the collaboration with PFL as a powerful moment for both the gym and combat sports fans in Rwanda.
"It’s a great image for FitnessPoint and shows that we’re doing professional-level sports here in Rwanda, and as Rwandans, we’re lucky to have another sport added to those we already know — and one that could bring benefits in different ways, ”he added.
