The Burundi Basketball Federation (FEBABU) has announced that Dynamo BBC will not take part in the 2026 "Road to BAL” competition which will commence on October 17.

According to FEBABU, the decision follows the club’s failure to meet certain eligibility requirements within the set deadlines including the pending lifting of a suspension imposed by the Basketball Africa League (BAL) after Dynamo’s disqualification from Kalahari Conference in March 2024.

As the "Road to BAL” and the Elite 16 serve as qualifying stages for the Basketball Africa League, FEBABU stated that Dynamo’s participation would not produce the intended competitive outcomes for the current season.

However, the federation encouraged Dynamo BBC to continue its efforts to regularize its situation and prepare for full participation in future editions of the continental tournament.
