RIGHT Guards halted their three-game losing streak with a 13-run victory over a weakened Young Tigers’ side on Sunday.

After piling148 runs in the allotted 20 overs, Young Tigers ran out of overs at 135 for seven wickets.

Emma Byiringiro and Rene Bagirishya were the architects of Guards’ victory. Byiringiro blasted 70runs (including 12 fours and one six) while Bagirishya picked his first five-wicket haul to keep Young Tigers at bay. Bob Bashil Songa top scored for the youngsters with a cracking 66 (which included eight fours and three sixes).

Earlier in the day, Indorwa joined reigning champions Kigali Cricket Club (KCC) in the final after defeating Challengers.

Indorwa who had set Challengers a score of 122 successfully defended the score after dismissing the latter for 98.

The final is now slated for December 20 at Kicukiro oval.
