AMAVUBI and Atraco centre back Aloua Gaseruka has signed a two-year contract with Sudanese club El Merreikh.
Atraco club Vice President Issa Ngeze confirmed the development over the weekend saying that Gaseruka had joined El Merreikh for an undisclosed fee.

"He is now an El Merreikh and we wish him well.”
Over the years, Gaseruka has been an integral part of the Atraco and Amavubi backline. Last year, he helped Atraco to the 2009 Kagame/Cecafa Club Championship and MTN Peace Cup.

Gaseruka also featured in Amavubi’s 2010 World/ Africa Nations Cup campaign until the final three games when he was overlooked after falling out with Amavubi’s Croat tactician Tucak Branko.

The hard-tackling defender joined the taxi-men side at the end of the 2007 season after being released by ten-time league champions APR.

He is now set to feature for El Merreikh in next year’s African Champions League, Cecafa/Kagame Club Championship, Arab Champions League, Sudan Cup, Khartoum league as well as the Sudanese premier football league.

El Merreikh has 17 premier league titles, 19 Sudan Cup honours, two Cecafa Club Cups and one African Cup winners’ cup.
