STILL IN THE MARKET: AS Kigali women football coach Grace Nyinawumuntu

AS Kigali women football coach Grace Nyinawumuntu is determined to hold on to the league trophy that her club won last year after recruiting three players.

The Kigali City Council side won the league after dethroning APR on goal difference and the 33-year-old coach is keen to retain the title.

The three players include a Burundian striker Claudine Hakizimana, Congolese defender Amani Kumbo and an American winger Jenny Harding.

Even after signing the trio, Nyinawumuntu is not done with the transfer window.

"I need more players for this coming campaign because there will be stiff competition from APR, Musanze and Aspej.

"I still need to strengthen the defense and midfield.”
This year, ten teams are expected to compete. They include AS Kigali, APR, Musanze, Aspej, Bugesera, Rayon Sport, Inyemera, Les Lioness, Rubavu and La Jeunesse.
