Frenchman Corentin Denolly captured his third Rwanda Open M25 title on Sunday, defeating Germany’s Maik Steiner 6-0, 5-7, 7-6(2) in a gripping final at the RP-Kicukiro Ecology Tennis Club.
The 28-year-old added the 2025 crown to his previous Kigali victories in 2023 and 2024, reinforcing his dominance on Rwandan clay courts.
With the win, Denolly pocketed $4,612 and earned 25 ATP ranking points, while runner-up Steiner took home $2,708 and 16 ATP points.
In men's doubles, Germany’s Maximilian Homberg and Belgium’s Martin Van der Meerschen claimed the title with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Aditya Balsekar (India) and Darrshan Suresh (Malaysia).
The champions shared $1,872 while the runners-up earned $936.
This year’s Rwanda Open M25 saw its total prize pool increase to $30,000, the highest yet for the Kigali tournament.
The second week of the Rwanda Open is scheduled to begin on Monday, October 13, continuing the two-week tennis showcase at RP-Kicukiro Ecology Tennis Club.
