NGOMA – An association of Genocide survivor students (AERG) at Kibungo University (UNATEK), yesterday celebrated its fifth anniversary. Laurent Ngarambe, who represented the university Rector at the function, said the students’ body was working well with the administration, noting that such associations were necessary to foster unity.

Laurent Ngarambe, who represented the university Rector at the function, said the students’ body was working well with the administration, noting that such associations were necessary to foster unity.
"We are so far happy with the way we are working with AERG. We hope to even do better for the good of our community,” he said.
The students’ leader, Tito Uwizeyimana, said the association had grown from five members to 100 in the last few years, which has helped them to reach out to other survivors in high schools within Ngoma, Kirehe and Kayonza districts.
"We now have a very big network to help our young brothers and sisters who were devastated by the genocide,” he said.
