Two arrested over defilement

RWAMAGANA – Two men, both residents of Rusave village-Nyagasenyi cell in Rwamagana district, are being held for allegedly defiling underage girls in two separate incidents. Paypay Habimana, currently remanded to Nsinda prison is accused of defiling a 14-year old primary 5 pupil in Rwamagana town. He is said to have caused the girl serious body harm and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.

RWAMAGANA – Two men, both residents of Rusave village-Nyagasenyi cell in Rwamagana district, are being held for allegedly defiling underage girls in two separate incidents. 

Paypay Habimana, currently remanded to Nsinda prison is accused of defiling a 14-year old primary 5 pupil in Rwamagana town. He is said to have caused the girl serious body harm and infected her with a sexually transmitted disease.

The girl’s father said he discovered after observing unusual conduct of her daughter.

"I couldn’t believe it. The girl looked completely devastated. That is when I forced her to reveal the truth,” he said.

Another suspect, only identified as Emmanuel, who is detained at Rwamagana Police Station, is accused of defiling and impregnating a 15-year old primary school pupil.
Cases of defilement seem to be steadily rising, the area local leader Jean Marie Vianne Karisa, told The New Times

"Parents and security organs should explore a lasting solution to check this,” he said.
