NEW National Olympic Committee (RNOC) boss Dr. Charles Rudakubana has promised to take a different path from his predecessor Ignace Beraho after agreeing to work closely with the Ministry of Sports and Culture. Beraho and his executive committee were thrown out of office by Sports minister Joseph Habineza on grounds of insubordination and stubbornly refusing to relinquish power.

Beraho and his executive committee were thrown out of office by Sports minister Joseph Habineza on grounds of insubordination and stubbornly refusing to relinquish power.
But Rudakubana, who comprehensively beat former sports minister Robert Bayigamba in Sunday’s election, is ready to restore good working relations with the Sports ministry acknowledging that for sports to develop in the country, RNOC needs to work hand in hand with the sports ministry.
The 52-year-old said, "Our number one goal is to develop sport in the country but we can only achieve it if we work conjunction with the Sports ministry.”
"We don’t want a situation similar to the previous committee, which was on bad terms with the Sports Ministry,” Rudakubana, who doubles as the president of the national tennis federation (RTF) added.
Other members on the new executive committee include Gashugi Muhimpundu (1st vice president), Elie Manirarora (2nd vice president), Parfait Busabizwa is the Secretary General while Thierry Rwabusaza is the treasurer.
