The former State Minister in charge of Mines and Environment Vincent Karega and the Minister of Lands and Environment Stanislas Kamanzi yesterday handed over to Christopher Bazivamo, the new Minister of Forestry and Mines.

Karega was recently elevated to full Minister of Infrastructure while Kamanzi heads the new restructured Ministry of Environment and Lands.

Bazivamo and Kamanzi’s ministries were created following the split of the former Ministry of Natural Resources (MINIRENA).

During the handing over ceremony both Karega and Kamanzi pledged to work closely with Bazivamo to ensure continuity of the ministry’s programs especailly new headways that had been made within the mining sector.
