Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and APR women basketball clubs will represent Rwanda in the upcoming FIBA Africa Zone 5 Club Championship which will take place in Uganda from November 8-16.

The competition will bring together 10 clubs from different countries in the FIBA Zone 5 including Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Kenya.

Rwanda will be represented by REG and APR who finished the 2025 season as champions and runners-up in the Rwanda Cup.

The tournament serves as a qualifier for the 2025 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) bringing together 12 women’s basketball clubs from across the continent.

In 2024, APR won 2024 Women's Basketball League Africa (WBLA) campaign with a third-place finish following a hard-fought 96-94 win over home side ASC Ville de Dakar at the Marius Ndiaye.
