Somali delegation here on study tour

MUSANZE - a delegation of 15 government officials from Somalia on a five-day study tour in the country, yesterday visited ex combatants at Mutobo Demobilization centre in Musanze district. According to Amina Mohamed, the head of delegation, their tour in Rwanda aims at witnessing the transformation the country has gone through for the past 15 years and how it has been implemented.

MUSANZE - a delegation of 15 government officials from Somalia on a five-day study tour in the country, yesterday visited ex combatants at Mutobo Demobilization centre in Musanze district.

According to Amina Mohamed, the head of delegation, their tour in Rwanda aims at witnessing the transformation the country has gone through for the past 15 years and how it has been implemented.

The Somalis also visited a civic education training camp of students at Lycee APICUR; where over 450 students are undergoing civic training and education on national policies.

Mohamed said that the officials will learn on how Rwandans managed to quell fear among the population especially after the 1994 genocide.

A former member of one of the militias operating from the DRC, told the visitors that they decided to disassociate themselves from war activities in order to make a fresh start of their lives in their country.
