Until my last breath—I will sacrifice for love

“But love is blind and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that themselves commit.” Probably Shakespeare made this quote after realizing how important sacrifice is for love. "But love is blind and lovers cannot see the pretty follies that themselves commit.” Probably Shakespeare made this quote after realizing how important sacrifice is for love.

Lovers barely think twice about the thoughtless sacrifices they make in the name of love. Love means sacrifice and without sacrifice, love can never exist, so they say.

Then how much should one sacrifice for love? Can someone sacrifice all life’s worth for love? How instrumental is sacrifice in making a relationship work?

Raymond (not real name) cherished his dreadlocks. They meant the world to him and acted a visual memory for his late father. Raymond’s father was a reggae fanatic and had dreadlocks. When Raymond got to his teenage, he bred dreadlocks to commemorate his father.

"Dreadlocks keep father close to my heart,” said Raymond.
When the common aisle –marriage came Raymond’s way, he had to choose between dreadlocks and his lover Martha (not real name).

Martha’s dad detested dreadlocks that much that he clearly declared disowning his daughter incase her so called ‘lover boy’ never got away with them.

Raymond was left at the verge of losing one of the two most important things in his life. Wear Raymond’s shoes, what would you choose to lose?

As for Joshua Rutagambwa, it was picking between the job and his girlfriend!

They fell in love while working for the same company which was considered unethical.

"Our love would get us sucked in case it got revealed. One of us had to sacrifice the job for love,” says Rutagambwa.

Love exposes us to the crucial, pathetic situations where only sacrifice is the only redemption. Matters of death and life. In the famous Shakespeare story, Romeo and Juliet died for love. Would you ever die for the one you love?

How deep is your sacrifice? Can you fight to your last breath in the name of love?

With such questions, ofcourse the answer is chorus, "I would do what I can, something that doesn’t have much impact on me.” With love, many will do what they can, not all they can.

Sacrifice is the worst thing that ever happens to lovers.
Hard as it is, sacrifice is the practical way to love.

In the world of love, everything will fall if you take away ‘sacrifice.’ Without sacrifice, love is reduced to mere words.
Like the sun brightens the day, sacrifice brightens love. Sacrifice comes as a day to day test to create and strengthen everlasting love!

A friend usually says that, ‘anything without sacrifice is totally meaningless and never worth, no matter how expensive may it be,’ meaning, sacrifice makes everything worth it, even outside love.

Sacrificing is simply surrendering one’s interests or well being for the sake of others. In this case, let’s focus on sacrificing for love.

Many have lost the genuine love to end up heartbroken for the rest of their lives just because they never did that sacrifice.

Sacrifice, makes love worth remembering. Jesus Christ is famous world wide not because he was holy, did miracles, name it. He is only remembered for sacrificing his life for humankind.

We shouldn’t sacrifice our lives for love but we should make sacrifice the centre of all the decisions we make for love.

Let sacrifice be the golden seal for our love even when the sky is falling. Hard situations strengthen our love, not ruin it.

If a lover discovers she is sick with cancer, do you walk out on them? If he get gets fired from work, do you fire him from your heart as well? And if you love your dreadlocks most, can you give up on them to keep her?

In love, we should always imagine the best. And when the most terrible comes, sacrifice is the only language to speak.
