THE Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed Rwanda as hosts of the 3rd CAF medical congress set for December 7-10 at Laico hotel in Kigali.

Celestin Musabyimana, an executive member of the body, confirmed the development yesterday.

He said, "Usually, the CAF medical congress is held in the Nations Cup host city but due to visa complications and limited time, CAF decided to bring it to Kigali.”

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will participate in the four-day event where the most prominent medical specialists in football gather to present the latest medical research in relation to preparation of teams, players, and prevention of injuries, diseases and malnutrition.

Officials from the World Health Organization, the English Football Association and COCAN 2010 are also expected to be present.

The theme of the congress is "African Football against Hunger’.

Every two years CAF organizes a medical congress prior to the Nations Cup.
