GATSIBO – Police in Ngarama sector, Gatsibo district are holding a 24-year old Burundian woman for allegedly dumping her baby in a pit latrine.

Angelique Nyarangabirwa, who police said had entered the country illegally, is said to have dumped the baby in a latrine soon after delivery.

Police sources told The New Times that the suspect had come to visit her mother at Nyabiheke refugee camp in Gatsibo district.

‘She entered the country via Bugarama border to visit her mother at the camp, gave birth and dumped the baby in the latrine,’ police said.
