Mucyo to table Genocide report before Parliament

The Executive Secretary of the National Commission against Genocide (CNLG), Jean de Dieu Mucyo, will for the first time table his annual report on Genocide before a joint session of Parliament today morning. This will be the first report presented to the parliament from CNLG since it was establishment over a year ago.

The Executive Secretary of the National Commission against Genocide (CNLG), Jean de Dieu Mucyo, will for the first time table his annual report on Genocide before a joint session of Parliament today morning.

This will be the first report presented to the parliament from CNLG since it was establishment over a year ago.

Lawmakers are expected to quiz the CNLG boss on several issues related to Genocide, including the remains of the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi that have been discovered in neighboring countries.

Mucyo is expected to update the joint session on several strategies put in place by his commission to ensure the eradication of the crime of Genocide.

He is also expected to tackle other issues including the creation of a national research and documentation centre on Genocide, and the progress in advocating for the cause of genocide survivors, both within the country or abroad.
