RWANDA’S Mele Bizimana qualified for the main draw after ousting Pakistan’s Faizan Khuram in the Kampala leg of the ITF/CAT East Africa U-18 tennis circuit.

Bizimana came from a set down to see off the Pakistani 0-6 6-2 6-3 6-4 at Lugogo tennis courts yesterday.

Besides Bizimana, Christian Rudasingwa, Desire Nkurutsu, Hamisi Gatete, Gisele Umumararungu, Oliver Uwineza and Filadaus Kiza are all in contention.

Last week, the juniors had a rough time after failing to reach the second round of the Kigali leg.

The circuit, which has attracted players from Sweden, Holland, Kenya, Egypt, Mauritius, Madagascar, Britain, Malta, Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, South Africa, Spain, Italy, and India winds up in Kenya.
