The Minister Foreign Affairs Rosemary Museminali has called on Rwandans to help war casualties who risked their lives to liberate this country from extremists who were tearing it apart.

She said this on Saturday evening while officiating at a function to mark this year’s "Thanksgiving in action Day” dinner organized by Women Foundation Ministries (WFM) at its headquarters in Kimihurura.

"Many Rwandans became casualties during the liberation struggle that put the country to where it is today. They can now hardly do anything to sustain themselves and their families…it is therefore time for us to give back as a reward for what they did,” Museminali said.  "We should thank the leadership headed by the President [Paul Kagame] which has also worked tirelessly to put the country back on map not because of bad things but because of the good things government is doing to help citizens out of poverty,” she said.

She urged everyone to be part of the country’s programmes that seek to make poverty history.

Pastor Alice Umunezero Kabera, the vision bearer of WFM said that despite the complications and tragedies that rendered many people childless, orphans and widows, God has continued to be on their side and urged them never to give up.

WFM is a faith-based and non-profit organization incorporated in Rwanda since 2006.
