Kigali Cricket Club and Right Guards cricket club are seeking to preserve their excellent start in the MM Industries 20/20 tournament today as they take on Challengers and Indorwa cricket clubs respectively at Kicukiro oval.

The four-time Sulfo league champions and Right Guards have amassed six points from their first two ties and victories today will jointly maintain their command at the top of the table with 10 points.

After sharing points in their first tie, KCC and Guards carried home maximum points against Rwanda’s rising club the Young Tigers to send a sound warning to Challengers who have been in impeccable form this year.

Challengers who have won two trophies already this year, which include the Sulfo league and Utexrwa Cup, are only be playing their first tie at the inaugural 20/20 tournament and their captain Srinath Vardhineni expect a good start.

"We have played very good cricket this year. Though it’s been a while since the previous tournament, we believe we are still in good shape to challenge KCC,” Vardhineni says.
On the other hand, Emma Byiringiro has also tipped his club, Right Guards to go all the way after last Sunday’s morale boosting win over Young Tigers.

"Young Tigers was our major worry and taking four points from them was a big boost for us. We know that it’s not yet over but we believe we are on the right track,” the national team star added.
