Rayon v Atraco
AS Kigali v Etincelles

National league title contenders, Rayon Sport and Atraco clash in one of the awe-inspiring fixtures of the season today at Amahoro stadium.

Rayon Sport has come out on top in all the fixtures against Atraco since its promotion to first division, today’s fixture may prove something pivotal for the taxi-men club as they look forward to overturn the losses that have been inflicted on them by the Blues last season.

The Blues defeated Atraco 2-0 in the first leg of last season under former coach Sam Ssimbwa before completing their 100 percent winning record in the second leg as they proved triumphant after a 2-1 victory under new coach Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira.
Despite earning a 1-0 victory over the newly promoted side Electrogaz on the opening day of the season, the Blues have struggled to beat the seeming weak opponents in their recent games.

Rayon Sport Coach Thierry Hitimana said, "Am confident of a good show today because the mistakes which denied the chance of playing better in our last fixture have been rectified.”

"We lacked James Kidega in the midfield and he is back, ready for today’s encounter against Atraco. My players are in good and ready for the tie and victory, so I have no troubles with my team,” Hitimana added.

Meanwhile, Atraco coach, Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira is confident and convinced that his team will overturn last season’s poor show.

"Atraco lost its fixture due to different reasons and am convinced that today Atraco has got the right squad and no doubt, Rayon should also expect a battle,” Ntagwabira said.
Ntagwabira further added that his players are fit and ready for the tie, apart from Rashid Dura who is nursing a fever.

Today’s fixture will see former Atraco ruthless defender Bonaventure Hategikimana taking on his former bosses who released him from the club last month.
With both clubs recruiting heavily for the new season, today’s league fixture will exhibit much of the season’s football tactics from both major sides; the players and the coaches.
