Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and APR will rub shoulders in the women’s Rwanda Cup final on Wednesday, September 10, at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium.

The pair reached the final after eliminating The Hoops and AZOMCO respectively in the semi-finals.

APR beat The Hoops 81-78 while REG overpowered AZOMCO 96-54.

Key players to watch

APR will be relying on the services of point guard Kamba Diakite, Destiney Philoxy and Charlotte Umugwaneza as REG count on Odile Tetero, Akon Rose Paul Macuei and Maiga Kadidia who was instrumental in guiding the club to their third championship in four years.

Established in 2024, the Rwanda Cup aims to increase the number of competitions and teams in the country, fostering player development and raising overall performance standards.

APR women won the maiden edition beating 72-59 in the final.

This year’s edition featured seven women’s teams, divided into two groups.
