LIVING LIFE : What’s in a Year?

52 weeks ago, Living Life, the column that you should read every Sunday if you really have badly failed to sleep (the boredom), was born. A dumb fellow wakes up one day and comes up with the dumbest idea in the world. Bingo! Write about living life for people who are actually living their lives without the additional stress of having to read the idle ramblings of dumb fellow (like me).

So for the first Living Life anniversary I bring you ten of some of the not so interesting excerpts from the past year of Living Life.

Living Life 1 - The tactical coordination of body movements, curling and uncurling hands, swaying bodies into a wave, the tap-tap of the feet onto the ground perhaps can only be a result of a deeply engraved formula.

For all my admiration (of intore), the safest place I would dare try out my skills is only and only the bathroom.
Living Life 4 - Back to beauty, my bosom buddy sees it differently. He thinks beauty is in the eyes of the beerholder!

Living Life 10 - So during this Valentine’s, keep away from the naysayer. Risk your heart a little, enjoy the chase, and live the good times while they last.

Have some life. The love thing is good for your smile and your heart, so they say. Let the lonely ducks infect you not with their sour-laced pessimism about everything emotional.  Try to love actually.

Living Life 13 - No wonder men fear the aisle. It’s hell! Besides, the women know how to fox us into marriage. They visit, and leave a little more cloth everyday and by the time you know, your garments in the wardrobe have no breathing space.

Living Life 14 -When we were younger and ragga music - Shabba Ranks is a bedroom bully - kind of stuff was the rage, there was only one dancing style, now from an adult vantage point, it was sex with clothes on.

It simply tempted you to touch. Before you chop my head off, I was in my early teens.

Living Life 23 -If you are Dr. Claude, you can get away with wearing white earrings, a white cotton suit, and white ‘Abdul’ shoes because everybody looks up to you for something else other than your dress – your music et cetera et cetera. (If you are not, don’t try.)

Living Life 30 - Men would like to go to heaven but do not want to die, yet the surest way of going to heaven is to die.

Living Life 33 - Love supposedly permeates one’s body, mind and soul. Bodies of those in love usually don’t have a problem enjoying it.

Minds depend so much on where they are at any one time, for men, usually below the belt and for women in their left of their chest, so the idea of minds genuinely in love is, let’s just say, difficult to suppose.

Living Life 42 - Human nature is such that people will discourage you from doing something they have never achieved or are too afraid of trying themselves.

Living Life 47 - If originality of ideas is crucial in imagining, personifying and eventually achieving a dream, then Alpha (Rwirangira) is perhaps the personification of an original idea that has come to fruition.

Innovators and inventors thrive on challenge while copy cats in search of a short route to the top look to imitating and have no particular aspiration except fame and money
Otherwise, this Sunday try to live your life, without reading Living Life! (Oops, you already read it.)
