Former Arsenal star Bacary Sagna reveals love for Meddy’s music

Former France and Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has revealed that he is a big fan of Meddy's music.

Former France and Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna has said that he admires the music of US-based Rwandan R&B musician Meddy whose song Burinde Bucya remains his all-time favourite track.

Sagna was among several international figures who attended the 20th edition of Kwita Izina ceremony that took place in Kinigi, Musanze District, on Friday, September 5.

The Frenchman said he has several Meddy songs saved on Spotify and often plays them on repeat. "My favourite is Burinde Bucya. I play it on repeat in my car. It’s all about the emotions,” Sagna told Igihe.

He also listed Lose Control, Downtown, Closer, and Ntacyo Nzaba among other songs of Meddy that he often plays.

Sagna was spotted at a Kigali-based barbershop owned by one Karim Nzabonimana, a Rwandan barber based in Dubai. He is famous in his profession as Boss Karim whom Sagna calls a friend that he often visits when he is in Dubai.

"I had to get my hair fixed...when he messaged me, obviously the first thing I did was to find time to come and do this.”

Sagna, who was born to Senegalese parents, hailed the hospitality during his stay in Kigali which made him feel at home.

"First of all, I’m African myself, but the way people have made me feel here is amazing,” Sagna said.
