MUSANZE – There was a massive turn out for the Rwanda Defence Forces recruitment exercise on Tuesday in Musanze district, in which over 500 would be recruits turned up.

The national recruitment drive is targeting 80 people from every district.

The Area Brigade Commander Col. Gashaija Bagirigomwa said the screening will follow particular criteria including age, physical fitness and the level of education.

Applicants were also required to present letters of recommendation from the local authorities indicating their criminal record, if any over the last six months and a national identity card.

The first physical fitness exercise was followed by a written interview before the final 80 recruits were selected.

Col. Gashaija observed that the huge turn out showed that many people were willing to serve in the national army.
