Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song is confident his team can emulate the success story of Saudi Arabia and Japan in the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The two teams defeated Argentina and Germany, respectively, and Song is confident his charges can emulate that when they face Switzerland on Thursday, November 24, in a Group G encounter at the Al Janoub Stadium.

"We have seen surprises already at this World Cup, we respect our opponents, but it is on the pitch that you are going to see who is stronger,” Song stated ahead of Thursday's game.

"We are very calm and pleased that the mistakes of the past have not been repeated."

The former Cameroonian skipper said that everything is in order administratively. There are no monetary issues which caused problems in camp in previous tournaments.

"We have had no disputes about wages or money -- things have changed at the football federation now that Samuel Eto'o is president," he added.

Cameroon are in the same Group with Switzerland, Brazil as well as Serbia in the 2022 competition and hope to secure at least a round of 16 berth.
