Senior six leavers enroll for “Itorero”

GICUMBI – A total of 1,875 senior six leavers and youths representatives from each sector in Gicumbi district have arrived at selected sites to start 25-day civic education training commonly known as ‘Itorero’.

The group started arriving at their respective training sites last Friday.

Speaking to The New Times, the district director of education, Deogratius Mwanafunzi said four sites have been selected in the entire district.

"The training sites include Rushaki College which shall accommodate 501 participants, Kageyo Secondary School 415, GS APAPEB 524 and Rebero College 435 participants,” he said.

GS APAPEB has majority participants drawn from nine sectors, followed by Rushaki College with six sectors.

Kageyo Secondary School site has the least number from two sectors. Though the training is yet to be officially launched at National level, participants at various training sites were expected to begin lessons yesterday, Mwanafunzi said.
