KARONGI- His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI has called on Christian leaders to embrace unity and harmony  in order to effectively spread the word of God through out the world.

In a speech read for him by his representative in Rwanda Monsignor Ivo Scapolo, The Pope urged Catholic sisters and Fathers to emulate good traditions and become exemplary.

"The clergy should continue to work with unity, courage and determination in order for God’s message to reach the whole world,” Scapolo said.

Scapolo who was speaking during the 50th national commemoration since Catholic Sisters came into the country emphasized the significance of the historical day.

"This special day shows how strong the Catholic Church has grown over the years but also shows how much more work lies ahead.” 

The jubilation that attracted thousands of believers across the country and various top government figures was held at Kibuye Catholic church in Karongi district.
