BUGESERA - The Mayor of Bugesera district Louis Rwagaju, has advised residents to utilise the existing security in the country to initiate development activities.
Addressing a mammoth crowd in Ruhuha sector, the mayor advised residents to plant crops that are drought and pest resistant in order to ensure food security.

‘There are hybrid seeds and fertilisers in place, to help farmers increase crop production’, he said.

The sector executive secretary, Fidéle Sebakanura, said agriculture will be given priority since 95% of the  residents are farmers.

During the meeting, residents expressed dissatisfaction over how land distribution was being done in the district. The mayor however, assured them that the issue will be addressed.

"Owning land is your right. It is equally our duty as leaders to address your problems,” he said. Rwagaju is touring the district following his election.
