On Monday, September 1, the Ministry of Education released the results of the Advanced Level national examinations for the 2024–2025 academic year. The announcement highlighted achievements from students across general education, technical secondary schools, and professional education combinations.

Out of 106,079 candidates who sat for the exams, 105,997 were graded. 94,409 candidates passed, marking an overall pass rate of 89.1 percent. This indicates a 10.5 per cent increase in the pass rate compared to the previous year.

General Education
The overall top performer in General Education was Alliance Merci Arengerwe of Cornerstone Leadership Academy in Rwamagana District, who excelled in the Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combination. He achieved a score of 96.06 per cent.

He was followed by Jean-Lambert Kagemana, a Humanities student specializing in History, Geography, and Literature at ES Cyabingo in Gakenke District, who scored 95.73 per cent.
In third place came Jennifer Abayo Mugisha from College du Christ-Roi in Nyanza District, who attained 93.49 per cent in the Languages combination of Literature, French and Kiswahili.

Technical Secondary Schools
In the technical secondary school category, there were nine top performers. Each of them emerged top in their respective sector.
Fabrice Iradukunda of Nyanza TSS in Nyanza District scored 93.96 per cent. He is in construction.
Hakim Nshimiyimana of TSS Tyazo in Nyamasheke District, who pursued crafts and recreational arts, scored 93.33 per cent.
Nelly Phillipe Ashimwe from Gicumbi TSS in Gicumbi District, who excelled in the Energy combination, recorded a score of 96.96 per cent.
Samantha Muganza of Muhabura Integrated Polytechnic College in Musanze District, who did tourism and hospitality, scored 93.93.
Yves Hakizimana of Rwanda Coding Academy in Nyabihu District, scored 94.45 per cent. He studies ICT and Multimedia.
Delice Irakoze of Kisaro TSS in Rulindo District scored 93.07. She studied Manufacturing and Mining.
Jean-Marie Vianney Twatsinze of Saint Laurent de Gaseke TSS School in Gicumbi District scored 94.7. He studied Technical Services.
Obed Bisetsiyaremye of APENA in Kirehe District scored 91.21. He studied Transport and Logistics.
Patrick Twizeyimana of G.S. Gasetsa in Ngoma District scored 91.87. He studied Agriculture and Food Processing.
Professional Education
In professional education, six top performers were listed according to their respective learning areas. Each of them emerged top in their leaning area.
Raban Gitangaza from GS Gahini in Kayonza District emerged as the best student in the Associate Nursing Program. He scored 94.13 per cent.
Fraterine Nisingizwe from EAV Ntendezi in Nyamasheke District scored 94.57 per cent in Accounting.
Dieudonne Hategekimana from TTC Nyamata in Bugesera District, who attained 91.39 per cent in Language Education.
Emmanuel Nshimiyimana of ENP/TTC Kirambo in Burera District scored 91.65 per cent in Science & Maths Education.
Celestin Dufitumukiza of TTC Muramba in Ngororero District scored 94.48 per cent in Social Studies Education.
Olivier Twagirumukiza of TTC Matimba in Nyagatare District scored 92.35 per cent in Early Childhood & Lower
Primary Education.
