BAT donates Rwf 4m to ‘One Dollar’ campaign

British American Tobacco (BAT-Rwanda) Thursday remitted a cheque of Rwf 4 million as part of the company’s contribution to the ‘One Dollar’ campaign provide support for orphans of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis. The handover ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

British American Tobacco (BAT-Rwanda) Thursday remitted a cheque of Rwf 4 million as part of the company’s contribution to the ‘One Dollar’ campaign provide support for orphans of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis.

The handover ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Olivier Rwamasirabo, BAT Corporate Affairs Manager, said his company was committed to supporting government initiatives aimed at improving the social welfare of Rwandans in different categories.

According to officials managing the campaign, so far, contributions are close to Rwf 1bn.

They called upon all those who pledged to honour their promises and release funds to help plan.

The money will be used to construct a hostel for the orphans.
