Rwanda’s music scene is undergoing a dynamic transformation, with the catchy sounds of South African Afro House and Amapiano steadily overtaking the dominance once held by West African genres like Afrobeats, Banku, and Afro pop.
At the forefront of this shift is Amapiano, a genre that has built a massive following in Rwanda, reshaping Kigali’s nightlife and drawing top South African DJs and artists to perform in the city almost monthly.

In line with this trend, South Africa’s chart-topping duo Jazzworx & Thukuthela, the first artistes to produce five No.1 hits on Spotify this year, are set to perform in Kigali for the first time.
The show, dubbed ‘The White Party,’ will take place on August 29 at Kigali Universe, and will also feature performances by leading local DJs including DJ Inno and DJ Toxxyk, among others.
This comes at a time the duo is enjoying an exciting year, with their viral hit tracks "Isaka” and "Vuka” topping global charts and inspiring international dance challenges across social media.
According to Groove Kigali—the entertainment brand behind the event—the duo’s growing popularity within Rwanda’s house music community made them the perfect headliners for this milestone show.
"Jazzworx & Thukuthela are breaking records in South Africa and becoming a big deal across the continent. There’s no doubt this will be the best party in Kigali this week,” the organiser told The New Times.
The White Party also marks the one-year anniversary of Groove Kigali, which has made a significant impact on the local entertainment scene with its consistent delivery of high-energy, genre-defining events.
Known for their seamless blend of Amapiano and 3-step dance house, Jazzworx & Thukuthela have crafted a polished, groove-heavy sound that continues to dominate streaming platforms and dancefloors alike.
