Tender schemers must face the full wrath of the law

Editor,

It seems that some of the people that we trust to make sure that our tax dollars are well spent, are the very same one’s that are wasting our monies.

The story that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times, which alleges that tender committee members from four government institutions allegedly released millions of francs in phases that contravene stipulated tender procedures, is one I read with a feeling of sadness.

It filled me with sadness because, if the every people who should know better are the ones contravening the law, then I wonder what kind of message it sends.

It makes me wonder if we shall ever win the war against corruption.

I guess that the only way to win this war is to continue punishing heavily those that engage in this unpatriotic act and give them long jail sentences.
