KARONGI - This year’s religious leaders’ retreat opened yesterday in Karongi District with a call on participants to work harmoniously with believers.

The retreat which was attended by renowned evangelist Pastor Rick Warren, brings together religious heads drawn from different denominations across the country.

In his speech, Rick Warren called upon the members of clergy to work harmoniously with believers and emulate God’s teachings to his followers.

"We should all use examples of how God accomplished his work and mission through his son Jesus Christ without following our heart’s desires,” Warren told a mammoth crowd of religious leaders.

He challenged them to exhaust the available opportunity and make Rwanda exemplary in God’s Ministry.

Rev. Antione Rutayisire, who represented one of the denominations, said the retreat would help participants understand how to go their work done.

"The retreat is meant to help us understand how best to carry out God’s work and without doubt we shall learn a lot from it,” Rutayisire told The New Times.
