Rwanda’s beach volleyball players have been challenged to target the 2016 World Cup.

FIVB’s instructor Mohamed Benhamida made the remarks while concluding a one-week training workshop for local coaches and umpires at Amahoro’s Indoor stadium yesterday.

The workshop centered on technical skills, rules, strategic planning, and most importantly promotion and organization of the game.

"The interest is there but the ambition has to be there as well,” Benhamida emphasized.

The instructor also advised the local volleyball federation to draft an eight-year strategic plan to promote the game beginning with schools.

He also advised FRVB to increase on the number of beach volleyball competitions.

Brazil are the World champions. South Africa dominates on the Africa continent.
