GICUMBI - Members of Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) in Gicumbi district have been called upon to exhibit integrity, honesty and self respect in order to rally other residents behind the party.

The call was made last Sunday, by the party’s Byumba Sector mobiliser, Justine Mukabahizi while addressing party faithful at a one-day workshop.

The workshop attracted party members from village and cell levels at Byumba Sector conference room.

Mukabahizi reminded participants of RPF`s commitment to spearheading good governance and  unity, while accelerating economic development.

"You are required to be at the forefront of ensuring that RPF achieves its political manifesto of fostering unity, development and democracy in the country,” said Mukabahizi.

She castigated former regimes for dividing Rwandans along ethnic lines which culminated into the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

"RPF is determined to ensure Genocide does not occur again in Rwanda,” she added.

Another party official, Fredric Mujyarugamba, reminded participants of their role to eradicate poverty among residents by encouraging them to practice modern agriculture and livestock farming.

"Food security shall be guaranteed only if you mobilize residents to practice modern agriculture and livestock farming. This shall be possible through land consolidation,” said Mujyarugamba.

On his part, the sector party chairman, Eugene Ntazinda said RPF has made tremendous political and socio-economic achievements for the last 15 years.

"These include guaranteeing security in the entire country, repatriation of Rwandan refugees, as well as setting up various programs meant to kick out poverty out of Rwanda,” said Ntazinda.
