Burundian comedy star Kigingi is set to bring comedy and music to the same stage through his show dubbed "Kigingi Comedy Night” which will take place at Molato Restaurant & Bar on Saturday, August 31.

The comedian, born Alfred Aubin Mugenzi, is known across East Africa for his sharp humor and lively stage presence and promises not just a comedy show, but a full evening of entertainment, according to the organisers.

Unlike a traditional stand-up performance, this event is expected to mix comedy with live music and DJ sets, giving the audience a variety of fun moments to enjoy throughout the evening.

"It will not be all about laughter,” explained Yves Imfura, one of the organisers. "There will be a band, DJs, and sounds from talented entertainers. It will be more of an entertainment night than just comedy.”

Kigingi’s return has been anticipated, especially after he missed at the third anniversary of Gen-Z Comedy.

Over the years, he has built a strong bond with Rwandan audience through major comedy platforms like Seka Live and the Kigali International Comedy Festival, where his performances left lasting impression.

Tickets have been kept affordable, with general entry going for Rwf10,000 and premium tables for groups of eight with bottles priced at Rwf250,000.

Organisers say this is an opportunity for everyone to come together, laugh, and enjoy a night of live performances.

Kigingi is no stranger to Rwandan stage. In 2019, he first performed here at the Kigali International Comedy Festival. Two years later, he deepened his ties when he married Marina Mataratara, a Rwandan, in Kigali wedding. Today, he considers Rwanda a second home, making this comeback even more special.

Over the years, Kigingi has shared stages with some of East Africa’s biggest comedy names including Eric Omondi, Arthur Nkusi, Chipukeezy, Herve, Babu, and Michael. His mix of storytelling, cultural humor, and interactive performances has earned him fans across borders.
