KAMPALA - A new software solution that has been developed by researchers from Uganda, Norway, India, Ethiopia, South Africa, USA and Pakistan will be unveiled in Rwanda on of 26, November, 2009.

The development was revealed by Peter Wakholi a senior ICT lecturer at Makerere University during the launch of Open X data software solution in Kampala.

Peter Wakholi said they are working with the national malaria control program in Rwanda to report malaria cases.
"So far in 550 health centres in Rwanda where Open X data software solution is used to collect data 13 cases have been reported” said Peter Wakholi.

Open X data has applications in development work and research that include; health care, education, agriculture, humanitarian work and market research.
