Rwamagana —  Four of the 10 sectors in Rwamagana district, officially concluded Gacaca genocide trials. The sectors that ended the cases include Fumbwe, Nzegi, Nyakariro and Karenge.

In a ceremony organized to thank the judges (Inyangamugayo), the National Coordinator of Gacaca courts Domitile Mukantaganzwa, thanked them for the noble work they had done.

"Fumbwe judges exhibited the kind of integrity that is highly commendable. There was only one person who was reported to have been involved in taking a bribe,” she said.
More than four thousand cases were heard in the 36 courts of Fumbwe sector.

She said the trials that started in 2003, had successfully ended due to the great commitment and efforts by the court officials.

Mukantaganzwa further urged Rwamagana leaders to ensure that the remaining sectors conclude the trials soon.
The area Executive Secretary Antoine Uwumuremyi said the smooth running of the trials has helped the people of the sector to reconcile.

Theogene Rutagwenda one of the judges said they cleared trials in their sector, and went ahead to offer help in other sectors.
