AS Kigali to start pre-season training

2008/9 national women league champions AS Kigali are scheduled to start pre-season training this weekend ahead of the new league which gets underway on November 29. The Kigali City Council side won the league after dethroning APR on goal difference and the team’s head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu is keen to retain the title.

2008/9 national women league champions AS Kigali are scheduled to start pre-season training this weekend ahead of the new league which gets underway on November 29.

The Kigali City Council side won the league after dethroning APR on goal difference and the team’s head coach Grace Nyinawumuntu is keen to retain the title.

"I intend to bolster my team with some fresh blood. Our target is to retain the title and w shall do anything to make sure we achieve it,” she said.

This year, ten teams are expected to compete. They include AS Kigali, APR, Musanze, Aspej, Bugesera, Rayon Sport, Inyemera, Les Lioness, Rubavu and La Jeunesse.
