THE interim committee of Rwanda National Olympic Committee (RNOC) has advised the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to come see what is on ground before making any conclusions.

The temporary body headed by Aimable Bayingana was reacting to IOC’s decision that it still recognizes Ignace Beraho as the committee’s legitimate president until the upcoming elections (November 29).

"In principal, those are their rules (Olympic Charter) but in reality, it is different. They should come and see what’s on ground,” he said.

"The general assembly recently decided on the interim committee to run the affairs and things intend to stay that way.”

"IOC has no business in choosing RNOC’s executive. This is entirely up to the federations,” Bayingana added.

Early this week, IOC Relations Director Pere Miro ordered the Sports ministry to reinstate the disbanded RNOC executive or else they risk being sanctioned.
